Man Dies in One-Vehicle Accident in Jennings County

A twenty-five-year-old man dies in a one-vehicle accident in Jennings County.

The investigation was led by Trooper Jacob Tolle; Indiana State Police-Versailles Crash Reconstruction Team informs that a white 2020 Kia Soul, driven by Craig Coons, was moving northbound on the roadway. While driving on County Road 150E near County Road 650N Coon left the east side of the road. He struck in a utility pole, overturned, and got to the end of the roadway.

The reason for the accident is unknown.

Police confirmed that Coons’ body was ejected from his vehicle. He was fatally injured, and Jennings County Coroner’s Office pronounced him dead at the scene. He was not correctly restrained in the vehicle at the moment of the collision.

For now, there is no information about whether Coons was driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs. The investigation is continuing, and toxicology results are pending.

Jennings County Sheriff’s Office, Jennings County EMS, Jennings County Coroner’s Office, Lucas Wrecker Service, and North Vernon Fire Department assisted the Indiana State Police in this one-vehicle crash.
