Indiana State Police are still investigating a hit-and-run accident that occurred on the Indianapolis south side. One man was severely injured and was taken to the nearest hospital.

The accident took place in the late afternoon on Monday, about 6:45 p.m. on the ramp from I-65 northbound to 465 eastbound.

Fifty-nine-year-old Michael Moore of Centerville in Wayne County, got out of his car to check the tires when a vehicle struck him, Indiana State Police informed. The police found Moore lying on the road.

The vehicle which hit the man did not stop at all and fled the scene. Moore had two passengers in his car, who witnessed the accident.

For now, there is no description of the vehicle. The police are searching for a car that should have damages on the front passenger side and possibly a cracked headlight.

Auto accident victims have two years to file a civil lawsuit and seek compensation for their injuries and damages. Many people don’t know about Indiana’s statute of limitations. Timing is everything, and you need to have legal help by your side who will advise you what step you should take next.

Being injured in an auto accident can be challenging. But, finding your way through the Indiana legal system is another challenge car accident victims have to deal with.

Filing a lawsuit or a claim is always more comfortable with a car accident lawyer. Hit and run accidents can be even more complicated than any other accident because the victims and the police don’t have the person who is responsible for the crash.
